Provisioning

Apps that make crew provisioning and shared costs painless

A shared shopping list, a packing checklist and an expense splitter keep the whole crew organised and calm.

Plan and shop as a crew

Three free phone apps remove most of the pre-charter hassle: a shared shopping list, a packing checklist and a way to split the bills fairly.

Shared shopping list

Instead of one person guessing what everyone wants, use a shared list the whole crew can edit in real time.

  • Listonic lets everyone add items from their own phone and tick them off in the shop.
  • Group items by type (fresh, dry goods, drinks, cleaning) so two people can split the supermarket.
  • Keep a reusable "boat basics" list you copy for every trip.

What to bring aboard

Use this as a starter checklist and adapt it to the boat and route:

  • Galley: coffee and tea, oil, salt, snacks, water (3-4 l per person per day), bin bags.
  • Safety and health: sun cream, seasickness tablets, personal medication, a small first-aid kit.
  • Comfort: quick-dry towel, soft-soled shoes, head torch, power bank, reusable bottle.
  • Boat: a spare line, duct or sail tape, cable ties, a couple of carabiners.

Split the costs without arguments

The shared kitty for fuel, mooring, food and the final clean adds up fast. Track it as you go.

  • Splitwise records who paid for what and tells everyone who owes whom at the end.
  • Agree up front what goes in the shared pot and what stays personal.
  • Settle once at the end of the week - no awkward cash maths in every taverna.

A shared list and a shared ledger keep the crew relaxed: everyone can see it is fair.
